Baum has had a varied career as an educator, criminal defense and civil
litigator, hearings officer, pro tem commissioner, arbitrator and
mediator. A former Partner in the
Vancouver Law Firm of BAUM, ETENGOFF & BUCKLEY, Mark’s law practice focuses
on criminal defense and family law, civil litigation and transactional fields, including
business formation and representation, and mediation and
Mark has been practicing law for more than 30 years. In addition to practicing before the Washington State courts, he has been admitted to practice before the United States District Court, Western District of Washington, United States Court of Appeals (Ninth Circuit), and the United States Supreme Court.
Mark is a graduate of Gonzaga University School of Law (Juris Doctor/1980) and received his undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo (Sociology/1977).
Mark has taught various law courses at Oregon, Kentucky and Washington State schools and previously hosted a radio-listener call-in program entitled, The Law and You on Portland’s KXL-750 AM and the former KVAN in Vancouver.
Mark lives in Olympia with his wife Lynne, an Occupational Therapist who works in the North Thurston Public School District.
